The Cowichan Valley Archives

Our archival collection is housed on the third floor of Duncan City Hall. The archives offer a treasure trove of materials, including books, papers, photographs, and films, that document the history of the region. Visits to the archives are by appointment only, ensuring personalized access to our extensive collections.

Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 12 noon to 4 pm.

Archival Services

Image reproduction

Our archives offer high-quality image reproduction services, allowing researchers and community members to obtain copies of historic photographs from our collection for personal, educational, or research purposes.

Research Requests

Our volunteer archivists are available to assist with research requests, including obituaries, family history, and local records

Archival Donations

We gratefully accept donations of archival material such as photographs, newspapers, and family records. These contributions help preserve the Cowichan Valley’s rich history and ensure that local stories and legacies remain accessible for future generations.
